Thank you for your interest in Bike/Walk PAC.

As voting continues, polls show that at least three of our four endorsed races are going to be very close. Many voters will wait until the last minute to fill out their ballots, and many voters remain undecided on the races we’re working on.

With your help, Bike/Walk PAC could be the difference in electing candidates that support biking and walking in Oregon, and defeating the insidious Measure 37.

WHAT WE’RE UP TO

Bike/Walk PAC is running a grassroots, guerilla campaign to elect our pro-bike, pro-walk candidates Tom Potter, Sam Adams, Robert Liberty, and to defeat Measure 37.

Our campaign consists of email, word of mouth, flyer distribution, direct contact with biking and walking commuters, and assisting campaigns with their efforts. We’ve had a busy October, and it’s only getting busier.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

1. Give money. For $50, we can print up another 1500 flyers. For $30, we can print up 900. We're also supporting campaigns directly. Give online.

2. Help distribute flyers. We’re busy distributing 3,000 flyers that list our endorsements and urge voters to "Bike. Walk. Vote." These flyers are being hung on bicycles, handed to pedestrians, and given out to our friends (this might have been how you first heard of Bike/Walk PAC). We’d love your help to distribute these flyers as you walk or bike around town. You can pick up flyers either downtown or in the Hawthorne area. Email us for details.

3. Join us at a visibility event reaching out to commuters. On Friday, Oct 22nd we’ll be on the Hawthorne Bridge from 4:30 to 6:30 pm. On Friday, Oct 29th we’ll be joining Breakfast on the Bridges on the Hawthorne and Broadway Bridges from 7 to 9 am. That same day, we’ll be back on the Hawthorne Bridge from 4:30 to 6:30 pm. Send an email to sign up.

4. Volunteer for a phone bank. Contacting targeted voters with a personal message is the most effective way to win elections. Joint phone banks for Robert Liberty and No on 37 are running many nights between now and the election, from 6 to 9 in the evening. Dates: Thursday, Oct 21, Sunday, Oct 24, Monday, Oct 25, Thursday, Oct 28, Saturday, Oct 30, Sunday, Oct 31, and Monday, Nov 1. Send an email to sign up.

5. Spread the word. Encourage your friends and associates to check out www.bikewalkpac.org
